Summary:

Our company is currently looking for Bricklayers (with Block laying skills) with 3-5 years experience to start as soon as possible to work in the GTA and Surrounding Areas to start as soon as possible.  Applicants must be a member of Local 183 or be willing to apply for membership as per our collective agreement.  Applicants should have all safety certificates current in the following items: WHIMIS, Scaffold Safety, Fall Arrest / Protection, Propane (an asset), CPR/First-Aid (an asset).  If certificates have expired or not available, we will make arrangements to have your courses updated upon hiring.

Job Description:

Lay and bind building materials, such as brick, structural tile, concrete block, cinder block, glass block, and terra-cotta block, with mortar and other substances to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches on residential structures.

Specific Skills:

Prepare and lay bricks and concrete blocks or other masonry units. Lay bricks or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Construct and install prefabricated masonry units. Place steel reinforcing and grout in cavities or cores to build external walls, Remove and replace existing masonry work for alterations or restorations.  Must be able to work at heights and on scaffolding.  Must have oral communication and work well with others and interested in continuous learning.

Summary:

Job Description:

Build stone structures, such as piers, walls, and abutments. Lay walks, curbstones, or special types of masonry for vats, tanks, and floors.

Specific Skills:

Face, size, cut and lay stones.  Construct and install prefabricated masonry units. Place steel reinforcing and grout in cavities or cores to build external walls, Remove and replace existing masonry work for alterations or restorations.  Must be able to work at heights and on scaffolding.  Must have oral communication and work well with others and interested in continuous learning.
